Vanilla Cake and Vanilla Frosting

Ingredients (for the cake):

-2 sticks of melted butter

-1 cup of granulated sugar

-3 eggs

-1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

-3 tablespoons of canola (or vegetable) oil

-2 cups of flour

-1 tablespoon of baking powder

-1/2 cup of milk


Ingredients (for the frosting):

-1 cup of canola (or vegetable) oil

-3 1/2 cups of confectioner's sugar (or powdered sugar)

-1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

-3 teaspoons of milk

-food coloring (optional)


Instructions (for the cake):

  1. Preheat oven to 350

  2. Mix flour, baking powder, and sugar together in a bowl.

  3. Mix butter, eggs, vanilla extract, oil, and milk in afterwards (same bowl).

  4. Put cake in oven for 56 minutes. If baking cupcakes, put them in for 20 minutes.

  5. Let cool for 45 minutes before frosting

Instructions (for the frosting)

  1. Mix all your ingredients together in an electric standing mixer.

  2. If frosting looks oily, add more sugar
